Key Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate international import, export, and transit shipments from initial inquiry through final delivery;
- Handle shipments across different modes of transport, including rail, road, sea, and air freight;
- Request, analyze, and compare freight rates from carriers, shipping lines, railway operators, terminals, agents, and other logistics partners;
- Identify the most efficient transportation routes based on cost, transit time, reliability, cargo specifics, and client requirements;
- Prepare accurate and competitive freight quotations;
- Obtain complete and accurate cargo information from clients, suppliers, and partners before arranging transportation;
- Coordinate shipments with international agents, carriers, terminals, customs representatives, warehouses, and other service providers;
- Monitor shipments at every stage and ensure that agreed ETD, ETA, transit times, and operational requirements are properly followed;
- Provide clients with timely and accurate shipment status updates;
- Collect, check, and process shipping documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, CMRs, Railway Bills, Air Waybills, certificates, and other accompanying documents;
- Identify documentation discrepancies or operational risks before they affect the shipment;
- Coordinate the preparation and execution of transportation, freight forwarding, and related service agreements when required;
- Maintain complete and properly organized shipment records and documentation;
- Prepare regular operational and shipment reports;
- Promptly identify delays, discrepancies, additional costs, or other operational issues and coordinate their resolution;
- Maintain effective communication with clients and international partners throughout the transportation process;
- Continuously develop knowledge of international transportation routes, terminals, border crossings, freight markets, tariffs, and logistics regulations;
- Build and maintain a reliable network of logistics partners, agents, carriers, and service providers;
- Support the company in improving operational efficiency, service quality, and profitability.
Qualification Requirements
- Higher education;
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or a related field;
- Practical knowledge of international freight forwarding processes;
- Good understanding of rail, road, sea, and/or air transportation;
- Experience with container transportation is a strong advantage;
- Knowledge of railway and container transportation will be considered a significant advantage;
- Understanding of Incoterms, transportation documentation, freight calculations, routing, and international shipping procedures;
- Ability to analyze and compare freight rates, routes, transit times, and transportation conditions;
- Strong analytical and logical thinking;
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to manage several shipments and priorities simultaneously;
- High level of responsibility and attention to detail;
- Strong communication and negotiation skills;
- Commercial mindset and ability to work with costs, margins, and service profitability;
- Confident computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
- Fluency in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond quickly to operational changes.
