Job objective
- Uninterruptible and proper technical maintenance, repair and overhaul of all mechanical equipment including an oversight of procurement and materials/spares requirement to ensure continued operability of equipment throughout SOCAR AQS operations;
- Be fully aware of the SOCAR AQS Procedure for preventive maintenance, inspection and test programme (PMITP).
Key accountabilities
- To safely carry out work functions in the main area of operations and in case of necessity including vessels, wagons, shores and all areas where the company operates;
- Maintain and repair as necessary all mechanical equipment, investigating defects and submitting reports as required;
- Report on parts, tools and supplies needed to maintain the equipment for which they are responsible;
- Carry out pipe work and equipment installation tasks;
- Carry out mechanical isolations of equipment to be worked on by him/herself and others;
- Plan maintenance and repair tasks so as to minimise the effect on the drilling operation;
- Report any misuse of equipment to the Senior Rig Mechanic;
- Safeguard the rig tools and instruments in their care;
- Carry out tasks as technical requirements dictate;
- Attend meetings and additional training, as may be required;
- Replaces Senior Rig Mechanic when required and confirmed by Senior Toolpusher;
- Assistance with the responsibility for the provision of all Mechanical maintenance, repair and overhaul as dictated by SAP PM– also support for rig maintenance personnel throughout SOCAR AQS operations;
- Assistance with the Implementation, input, control, review and maintain the reliability of all equipment under sphere of responsibility to a standard apposite for the management of maintenance in line with API and in country interface documentation – relative to Mechanical issues;
- Assist with the supervision of equipment repair and procurement both on and offshore and ensure that it is completed in a timely manner;
- Assist as required with any shutdown or planned stoppage, develop plans and engage with relevant personnel. Including both Shut down and Maintenance work scopes;
- Assist with the onshore and offshore maintenance teams’ engagement in lateral learning and lessons learned bulletins;
- Assist with the control and implementation of start-up documentation transfer between Operations and Maintenance;
- Carry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictate;
- Installation, repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment on the rig within SOCAR AQS area of responsibility;
- Assist with the control of the responsibility over RREP / NPT (Rig Repair / Non Productive Time) directly attributed to Mechanical maintenance and repair failures / activities;
- Provide work according to organization’s values;
- To fulfill the relevant to the job description tasks assigned by the manager;
- Think of and prepare the personal development plan with direct manager on a yearly basis;
- Run the processes according to the company values and speak up when any non-conformities occur.

- To plan all works under supervision ahead of time, to evaluate risks, to inform relevant parties during pre-work meetings;
- To perform evaluation for the purpose of determination of the tasks implemented within the area under supervision.

- To comply with ecological standards implemented in the company;
- To manage and comply with the rules on wastes segregation based on Wastes Management Procedure;
- To be aware of ecological aspects related with the work activities and to implement control measures.
Competency requirements
- Experience: 1 years of experience in a relevant field and position
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent education
Skills:
- Technological literacy, including MS Office, Zoom, SAP etc.
- English language skills are preferred
- Financial and numerical literacy and ability to read, digest and track financial information, if any
- Awareness and advanced knowledge about HSE standards
- Attitude to learn from others and to share with others
- Ability to communicate in an open, clear, transparent and friendly way
