About the Role

• We are seeking a Senior Data Management Specialist to support our exploration activities by ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and governance of subsurface and operational data. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making across geoscience and exploration teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, validate, and maintain exploration and subsurface datasets (seismic, well, geological, and reservoir data)
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with internal standards and industry best practices
• Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate closely with geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers to support exploration workflows
• Oversee data loading, migration, and integration across platforms and databases
• Maintain and optimize data management systems (e.g., OpenWorks, Petrel, Studio, etc.)
• Support digital transformation initiatives, including data automation and analytics
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data management staff
• Ensure data security, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geoscience, Data Management, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in data management within oil & gas, preferably in exploration
• Strong knowledge of subsurface data types (seismic, well logs, drilling, interpretation data)
• Experience with industry-standard tools (e.g., Schlumberger, Halliburton, or similar platforms)
• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management
• Experience with database systems and data integration tools
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams
• Excellent communication skills in English

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms or digital transformation projects
• Knowledge of data analytics or visualization tools (Power BI, Python, SQL, etc.)
• Prior experience in international exploration projects
