PASHA Insurance is currently seeking for a Senior Database Administrator.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL clusters in high-load production environments.
• Manage replication (logical & streaming), partitioning, indexing, backup/recovery, and version upgrades.
• Set up and manage HA and DR clusters using Patroni, PgBouncer, ETCD/Consul, and implement read-only routing with HAProxy, Keepalived, or Nginx.
• Configure and test robust backup strategies using tools like pgBackRest, WAL-G, or PgBarman to ensure recoverability.
• Troubleshoot and optimize query performance, concurrency, and durability for large-scale applications.
• Write automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Shell; experience with Ansible, TFS, Azure DevOps, or GitLab Database Projects is a plus.
• Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
• Use monitoring tools like Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Datadog, and pg_stat_statements for proactive database health checks.
• Implement enterprise practices: version control, structured deployment, and full documentation of schema changes.
• Support secondary platforms: MySQL, MS SQL, CloudNativePG, and contribute to cloud-native data architecture efforts.
• Perform database migrations using Liquibase, Flyway, or equivalent tools.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery across multi-subnet or hybrid environments
• Work across Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Participate in on-call rotation to handle incidents and alerts.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is strongly preferred.

Knowledge and  Skils

• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, cluster management, and performance tuning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in production environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (DevOps, SRE, Engineers).
