Role Synopsis:
- The Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- This role involves analyzing internal and external data to support asset performance management, preparing strategic reports and presentations, and contributing to investment decision-making.
- The Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst also supports the development and review of business plans and financial budgets, providing actionable insights and recommendations to enhance portfolio value and drive strategic growth.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist with due diligence for internal and external parties.
- Function as the liaison with various groups across the real estate business to gather and organize relevant information.
- Participates in portfolio company business review meetings and collaborates in discussions.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide written findings as needed.
- Administer ongoing and ad-hoc analyses and the preparation of various reports.
- Assist in preparing internal and external presentations.
- Track and analyze all aspects of the local real estate and hospitality market and create relevant reports.
- Review and extract information from marketing books and third-party research.
- Analyze new acquisitions and development opportunities and prepare financial analysis on the viability of each transaction.
- Conduct benchmarking exercise of portfolio company performance peer to peer and to industry comparatives.
- Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams in periodic business reviews;
- Other verbal and written tasks and duties assigned by the line manager.
Desired background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, Master’s degree or CFA/ACCA/CIMA certification is a plus
- Prior experience (2+ years) in Financial Analysis, Financial Modelling, Business Analysis or Accounting is required
- Familiarity with the real estate and hospitality market in Azerbaijan or the regions (e.g., Turkiye, Georgia, Russia, CIS, Middle East) with a good understanding of macro trends and historical perspective
Required skills: Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of financial analysis, data analysis, and financial modeling
- Ability to conduct solid market research, collect, validate and audit gathered data
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing projects to ensure timely deliverables
- Good organizational skills with the ability to efficiently manage time and workload
- High proficiency with advanced use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Business fluency in English and Azerbaijani is required, Russian language skills are a plus
