Key Accountabilities:
- Manage mechanical design consultant tenders and prepare clear Scope of Work documentation for RFPs.
- Oversee and coordinate mechanical design consultants during the Design Development Phase, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Review and assess mechanical design documentation related to HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with standards.
- Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) from consultants and contractors, providing prompt and technically sound solutions.
- Evaluate contractor submittals and shop drawings for mechanical systems and coordinate feedback with consultants and site teams.
- Provide value engineering proposals in coordination with the Commercial Team to ensure cost-effective mechanical system solutions.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to review and comment on material submittals, method statements, and ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Attend project design and coordination meetings, supporting critical technical decisions for mechanical systems and interfacing with other disciplines.
- Ensure close coordination between mechanical and other disciplines to achieve integrated and coordinated design packages.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant local and international mechanical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Desired background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly in hospitality, residential, and F&B projects, covering all stages from pre-construction to handover.
- Prior experience working on the client/developer side is an asset.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
- Solid technical understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategies, and coordination in complex building projects.
- Familiarity with international mechanical standards and ability to apply them within project-specific contexts.
- Proficient in mechanical design software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC/plumbing simulation software.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with experience in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Open to occasional travel (local and international) as required.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of taking the initiative in complex technical environments.
