Working Pattern: Employee Fixed Term Contract / Full Time 

As the Principal Structural Designer, you will:

• Be a citizen of Azerbaijan
• Perform studies, FEED and detail design of structural fabrications in an EPC environment or client role is highly preferred.
• Have worked in a brownfield environment preferred
• Be technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
• Produce and check design structural arrangement drawings
• Liaise closely with other disciplines to ensure all equipment requirements are addressed in the design, specification of equipment, construction sequencing and commissioning.
• Provide value adding knowledge to constructability reviews and take consideration of layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, utilities and maintainability.

You’ll have experience of:

• Leading a team of engineers and coordinate work tasks to achieve required plan dates or be a senior / principal designer looking for a step up in their career.
• Managing design team budgets, produce scope estimates and recognising and controlling scope change.
• Civils design preferred
• Primary and secondary structural designs, lifting arrangements and development of installation routes
• Offshore and onshore oil & gas business but similar transferrable industries skills will be also considered in leu of specific O&G experience.
• Producing and checking design deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.
• Producing and design checking structural detail drawings, checking installation sequence drawings, lifting arrangement drawings and weight control reports
• Generating and checking design 3D models using Plant 3D
• Microsoft packages, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Plant 3D essential

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline
• Previous demonstrable experience in detailed design and design checking
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant oil and gas industry codes and standards
• Understanding of all engineering disciplines
• Highly competent in the use of Autodesk design products
