Senior IT Project Manager

Position Overview

Saphire Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager with strong IT Business Analyst skills to lead end-to-end delivery of digital profucts. In this role, you will manage technical team as well as bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams — ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with client objectives.

General Information

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

Lead full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk registers, and status reports.
Manage cross-functional project teams and third-party vendors to ensure timely delivery.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and resolve escalated issues proactively.
Track project, resource allocation, and timelines; report regularly to senior management and clients.

Business Analysis

Elicit, document, and validate business requirements through workshops, interviews, and process analysis.
Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
Analyze AS-IS processes and design TO-BE workflows to support digital transformation.
Facilitate gap analysis and feasibility assessments for new system implementations.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure solutions align with documented requirements.
Support change management, UAT planning, and stakeholder training activities.

Technical Requirements

3+ years of project management experience within IT projects.
Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stream projects on time and within scope.
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
Proficiency with project management tools: MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
Proficiency in creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams.
Experience with modeling tools: MS Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io, or BPMN-compliant tools.
Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies; experience with hybrid delivery models.

Reporting & Communication Tools

Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
Experience preparing executive-level presentations and management dashboards.

Non-Technical Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
Fluent English (written and verbal) is mandatory; Azerbaijani and/or Russian is strongly preferred.

Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex problems into actionable plans.
Natural leader with the ability to motivate teams, manage conflict, and drive accountability.
High emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences.
