Operator trainee reports directly to the Field Operator/Lead Operator/Senior Operator and indirectly to the Operations Manager during in work in field conditions. Operator trainee’s main tasks and duties include:
- Learning about coiled tubing equipment and operating principles.
- Study standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical manuals.
- Observe and learn from experienced operators.
- Learn about operational hazards and risk assessment.
- Supporting operators in performing job tasks.
- Assist in preparing equipment for operations.
- Support in conducting routine equipment inspections.
- Clean and maintain the workplace and tools.
- Participate in equipment loading and unloading.
- Learn to inspect coiled tubing for damage before operations.
- Record daily activities and progress in training logs.
- Learn to handle basic hand tools and equipment.
- Assist in rig-up and rig-down activities.
- Observe pressure control procedures during field operations.
- Support lifting and transportation of materials under supervision.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools and spare parts.
- Report any unsafe behavior and unsafe conditions at the workplace.
- Work safely and understand the risks related to operational activities.
- Use PPE and keep it in proper working condition.
- Attend all safety-related activities (training courses, meetings and etc.) proposed by the company.
- Observe pressure control procedures during field operations.
- Work with chemicals as per the Safety Data Sheet and HSE requirements.
- Undergo medical examinations and surveillance offered by the company.
- Perform works at height using all necessary personal protection equipment.
- Proper separation, storage and disposal of waste in the field.
- Never bypass or override safety systems.
- Participate in shift handover meetings.
- Provide and maintain fire extinguishers and related equipment; inspect and report the condition and location of fire extinguishers; display an updated list of designated Fire Wardens on the notice board.
- Provide and maintain First Aid kits at all work areas; regularly inspect and report the condition of First Aid boxes; display an updated list of trained First Aid personnel on the notice board.
- Operate the forklift when necessary. (If authorized and trained)
Qualifications and Requarements
- Solid and proved experience in equipment maintenance and repairing;
- 1 year experience in offshore is desired.
- Driving License Desired
- Traveling required (up to 70% of total working time)
