Role and responsibilities
The Deputy Project Manager will assist the Expat Project Manager in the execution and delivery of large-scale solar and wind energy projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines and budgets. The Deputy will make sure that high levels of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) performance are achieved throughout all stages of the project, from design, procurement, construction to commissioning, energization, testing and handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the planning, coordination and execution of solar and wind energy projects from inception to completion.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and proposing solutions to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Managing relationships with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Collaborating with international teams, PMC (Project Management Consultants), and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors to align project execution with global standards.
- Assisting in preparing project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, and risk management plans.
- Providing technical and managerial support in areas such as site evaluation, design review, and construction oversight.
- Overseeing compliance with regulatory and safety standards during project execution.
- Participating in procurement processes.
- Ensuring quality assurance and control throughout all project phases.
- Acting as a liaison between the Project Manager, team members, and stakeholders to facilitate efficient decision-making.
- Qualifications and education requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or related field) or Renewable Energy.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years in solar and wind energy projects.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, grid integration, and energy project development.
- Proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including international collaborations.
- Certification in Project Management and Renewable Energy (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, REP) is highly desirable.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar software.
- Familiarity with international safety and environmental standards in renewable energy projects.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical proficiency in renewable energy technologies, construction processes, and design optimization.
