Responsibilities:

Insurance Management:

  • Provide assistance to the Project Management team in development and ongoing maintenance of insurance policies for projects, ensuring comprehensive risk transfer mechanisms are effectively implemented.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers to design and secure coverage tailored to the unique needs of renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct in-depth research on local and international insurance markets to gather and analyze data on product pricing, trends, and innovative coverage solutions.
  • Review and evaluate insurance advisors' reports on projects, provide feedback by ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.

Financial Risk Analysis of the projects:

  • Conduct proactive due diligence on financing terms of agreements, counterparty creditworthiness, and potential exposures across renewable energy projects, providing proactive feedback on sources of risk and advice on respective mitigation measures.
  • Evaluate project and financing agreements to identify potential risks of non-performance or defaults, offering proactive insights and periodic updates on identified risks.
  • Provide regular risk reports and assessments, summarizing key financial risks and highlighting significant concerns for the finance team to consider in decision-making.

Credit and Market Risk Management:

  • Analyze credit risk exposure associated with lenders, investors, and off-takers.
  • Monitor financial health and credit ratings of key stakeholders to mitigate counterparty default risk.
  • Evaluate and manage market risks, including interest rate fluctuations, currency risks in cross-border investments, and energy price volatility.
  • Advice on the hedging strategies to mitigate adverse market movements (e.g., currency, interest rate, energy prices), and assess their alignment with risk management objectives, and provide actionable feedback to ensure the strategies effectively address potential risks to project profitability and financial stability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, or CFA are a plus.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in financial risk management.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and insurance-related risks. Experience with project insurance and understanding of renewable energy project insurance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, detailed reports and presentations for senior management and project stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail in reviewing project finance documentation, insurance policies, and risk assessments.
  • Ability to spot potential issues and proactively recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail, ensuring effective management of all risks throughout the project lifecycle.
