POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for preparing the company's consolidated financial statements, maintaining accounting records in compliance with IFRS requirements, coordinating budgeting activities, gathering budget data from relevant departments essential for budget preparation, planning, analysing, and preparing the company's budget activities, as well as providing necessary support to the Financial and Budget Reporting team.
JOB DUTIES
- Conducting transactions in accordance with international accounting standards and verifying their compliance with these standards
- Verify the acquisition, initial accounting, commissioning, depreciation, internal movement, and disposal of fixed assets in accordance with the requirements of IFRS.
- Monitoring of accounting for capital investments in accordance with the requirements of IFRS.
- Control over the maintenance of fixed assets in accordance with the requirements of IFRS.
- Monitor the correctness of sales entered in the General Ledger monthly.
- Verify sales accounting in accordance with the requirements of IFRS and make appropriate adjustments.
- Verify that all other accounting transactions are registered in accordance with the requirements of IFRS.
- Implement appropriate adjustments in the SAP system in accordance with the requirements of international accounting.
- Ensure that all operations entered into the SAP system are correctly reflected in the General Ledger.
- Manage day-to-day activities as related to specific budget areas such as materials, utilities, dues and memberships, consultancy including gathering data, entering, correcting, and monitoring purchase orders.
- Assist with preparation of complex financial and budgeting models using spreadsheets and other templates
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, yearly fund/budget consumption reports and analysing overspendings and underspending
- Working with Department Managers to address budget related issues. Assists Budget Holders in explaining and understanding complex budget issues and circumstances
- Serve as liaison and resource to company departments and managers regarding budget data and proper budget procedures and practices.
- Making recommendations in terms of new budget procedures and policies. Suggesting new ways of analysing and data reporting for enhancing the credibility of budget reports
- Preparation of Additional Fund Request Forms in case of unplanned budget expenditure
- Preparation of reports and checking external audit
- Assist in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements (statement of financial position, statement of profit and loss, statement of cash flows, statement of changes in equity).
- Make the relevant adjustments in case of any discrepancies between the requirements of IFRS and tax accounting when preparing financial statements.
- Provide documents required during external audits and timely response to their queries.
- Perform in good faith the job descriptions defined by the established working standards and other regulatory documents.
- Comply with labor discipline and the Company’s internal disciplinary rules.
- Comply with labor safety standards.
- Bear liability for material damage caused to the Employer.
- Keep trade secrets of the employer under the established procedure and conditions.
- Do not violate the labor rights and legitimate interests of work colleagues.
- Execute judicial decisions (rulings) related to individual and collective labor disputes.
- Comply with labor laws and other regulatory documents governing the employee’s activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Functional
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the accounting
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the preparation of budget and financial statements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge of Azerbaijani
- Good knowledge of English
- Knowledge of Russian is an advantage
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Good Knowledge of IFRS
EQUPMENT SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
- Ability to use Accounting ERP, SAP FI is preferred
- Understanding of forecasting methods and data analysis
EDUCATION & TRAINING NEEDED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics
- ACCA F2, F3, F7, ACCA DipIFR or similar degrees
- CIMA certification is advantage
