Position summary

Senior Static Equipment Engineer will deliver specialist technical support and assurance for all static equipment. The Sr. Static Equipment Engineer should determine and develop the most suitable, economically and working on technically complex Static equipment’s design within proposals, studies, projects execution, as part of a study or project team, in accordance with design & engineering standards. He/she will be expected to work across the field of Static Equipment engineering for operations. The Sr. Static Equipment Engineer is expected to have experience with vessels, valves, steam traps, various types of heat exchangers, tanks, and other static machinery in operation at PP, HDPE and utility processing facilities and be knowledgeable of applicable industry standards and practices.

The Sr. Static Equipment Engineer will ensure safe, reliable operation and remove or mitigate risk within their area of responsibility.  

Job duties

• Failure to comply with HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental Protection) standards, statutory requirements, operational rules, and institution procedures.
• Doing & coordinates Static Engineering for Projects. Has wide discipline knowledge; good coordination skill with all the other Engineering disciplines, engineering sub-contractors, vendors and construction teams.
• Experience with pressure vessels, tanks and Heat exchanges for ASU, petrochemical, oil & gas plants
• Establish and maintain optimal minimum and maximum stock levels for static equipment spare parts to ensure availability of critical components while preventing overstocking and excess costs. Regularly review and adjust stock levels based on consumption trends, lead times, and maintenance requirements to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Experience in preparation of Inquiry & Purchase technical specifications, review of vendor drawings, coordination with various disciplines such as Process, instrumentation, piping, civil, electrical, vendors
• Familiarity with international & national standards ASME, TEMA, API, IBR for the static equipment 
• Conduct and evaluate Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for static equipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications 
• Keeping workplaces clean, following waste management procedure (EIP 02/10). Timely provision of necessary materials, tools, and equipment in the work area. Keeping the workplace and tools clean after the work is done, preventing pollution of the environment, ensuring that he informs his "supervisor" in situations that exceed his authority.
• Complying with written or oral instructions provided by the team leader to eliminate current maintenance deficiencies and malfunctions, to perform additional installation and assembly works in accordance with instructions and standards.
• Intervene according to the training and assignment received during fire and natural disasters.
• To issue the required materials and spare parts from the warehouse, to perform the assigned work on time by using the materials in place, correctly and economically.
• Effectively carry out joint planning, implementation, monitoring, and improvement activities directly or indirectly within their competence in accordance with integrated management systems activities
• Create new notifications/work orders and take necessary actions through the SAP system to ensure timely and accurate processing of maintenance tasks.
• Preparation of weekly and monthly reports related to static equipment maintenance works 
• Preparing and controlling  annual budget compliance for static equipment
• To ensure the distribution of subordinate employees by work in accordance with the prepared work schedule and its essence, to constantly monitor the work for the timely completion of the assigned tasks, to ensure that the employees under his control work as a team, and to prepare a report for the manager to whom he is attached
• Providing the necessary training to the employees under his control, information about the needed training and reporting the evaluation result of the conducted training to the senior engineer in a timely manner
• Interpreting suggestions from subordinates and making recommendations to their superiors in accordance with the rules regarding rewards, recognition, appreciation, and punishment
• Monitoring of the correct performance of the works of the contractor company related to static equipment
• Elimination of malfunctions of static equipment in emergency situations according to the relevant instructions in the shortest time frame
• Performance of all facilities in the plant in accordance with centralized maintenance rules
• Carrying out inspection and repair of all static equipment in the structural units in which he works in accordance with preventive and restorative rules, checklists, and instructions
• Complying with all the instructions of the team leader in the department where he/she works
• Contributing to the corporate culture change that will take place at the plant, quickly adapting to the new work process
• Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): Conduct failure analysis for static equipment to determine the root cause of failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Inspection & Condition Monitoring: Develop and implement inspection plans (NDT, thickness measurements, etc.) for static equipment based on RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) methodologies.
• Management of Change (MOC): Assess and approve modifications to static equipment, ensuring compliance with design standards.

Accountability

• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
• Writing and review the  PM task lists for related mechanical equipment 
• Develop and build external relations with vendors, and subcontractors and interface closely with other discipline functions
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems
• Establish and lead the squad check effort for vendor equipment documentation for assigned equipment
• Preventive maintenance program establishing and follow up. Corrective maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Carrying out all tasks assigned by superior   in accordance with the discipline procedures and practices
• Ensure compliance to QHSE requirements (maintain   a positive and safe work environment), and support improvements in QHSE
• Understand and comply with internal control   procedures, and support improvements in discipline work processes and  procedures
• Comply without fail with the company code   of conduct and ensure ethical behaviour at all times. Unethical behaviour   shall not be tolerated
• Supervise and lead less experienced  engineers
• Continuous self-learning to increase   technical competence, and experience transfer including input to lessons   learnt activities, training of junior engineers and peers
• Operate with High Competency Levels e.g.   communicate effectively at all levels, teamwork, etc.
• Provide input to performance appraisals for   employees under job holder’s supervision
• Accepts all tasks of a lower level and, in   concurrence with the superior, certain tasks of a higher level

Typical skill requirements

Experience:

• + 5 years of applicable and demonstrable experience working on mechanical, package equipment for process plant project (Refinery / Chemical / Petrochemical / Power / Oil & Gas)
• Understands technical requirements of other disciplines/departments at equipment/package interfaces
• High competency levels for multi-disciplinary collaborative work, in a manner that increases the efforts of others, in a multi-national environment
• Familiar with the standard engineering tools used in the OGP industry
• Experience in one or more of the following would be an advantage

Language skills:

• High level written & understanding English.

Technical skills:

• Broad range of technical skills and operations knowledge associated with static equipment.
• Experience with condition monitoring techniques and equipment for major static equipment
• Experience working with static equipment maintenance contractors and contracts.
• Major static equipment design, operation, and maintenance

• BE / B Tech / ME / M Tech – Mechanical Engineering.
