Spektr Group LLC is looking for a skilled and motivated Hydraulic Technician to join our Hydraulic Services Department.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for hydraulic hose assembly, cutting, crimping, inspection, pressure testing, and installation, ensuring all activities comply with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hydraulic hose cutting, preparation, assembly, and crimping using appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Select suitable hydraulic hoses, fittings, ferrules, and adapters based on technical specifications and application requirements.
- Operate and maintain hydraulic hose crimping machines, cutting machines, and related workshop equipment.
- Verify correct crimping dimensions and ensure hose assemblies comply with manufacturer specifications.
- Carry out visual inspections, dimensional checks, and quality control of completed hose assemblies.
- Perform hydraulic hose pressure testing in accordance with approved procedures and applicable standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot defects related to hydraulic hoses, fittings, connections, and assemblies.
- Perform hydraulic hose installation, replacement, and routing on industrial and oilfield equipment.
- Read and interpret hydraulic hose specifications, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, and traceability of hydraulic hose assemblies.
- Complete hose assembly checklists, inspection records, and pressure test documentation.
- Support basic maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, and associated components when required.
- Maintain workshop equipment, tools, and working areas in safe and operational condition.
- Follow company QHSE procedures and ensure compliance with safety requirements during all operations.
- Participate in on-site service activities at client facilities when required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Technical or vocational education in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in hydraulic hose assembly, crimping, or hydraulic maintenance.
- Hands-on experience operating hydraulic hose crimping machines is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of hydraulic hoses, fittings, ferrules, adapters, and connection types.
- Understanding of hydraulic hose assembly procedures, including hose cutting, fitting selection, insertion depth, and crimp diameter verification.
- Familiarity with hydraulic pressure testing and inspection procedures.
- Ability to use measuring instruments, including vernier calipers and other relevant tools.
- Basic ability to read technical drawings and hydraulic specifications.
- Understanding of workplace safety and quality control requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with hydraulic hose crimping equipment and hose assembly workshops.
- Familiarity with hydraulic hose and fitting manufacturers such as Parker, Gates, Manuli, or similar.
- Knowledge of hose standards, including SAE J517, SAE J1273, and ISO 18752.
- Experience with hydraulic hose pressure testing and certification.
- Previous experience in the oil & gas, marine, construction, or industrial maintenance sectors.
- Basic English language skills for understanding technical manuals.
