Key details about the role and the candidate
The Accountant will report operationally to the Senior Accountant and to Finance manager. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual with excellent organizational skills, a high level of integrity, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. The Accountant will ensure financial accuracy and compliance in all tasks, actively supporting the Finance team and contributing to the company’s financial operations.
You and the role
The Accountant will be ensuring that financial processes and payroll operations are completed accurately and in compliance with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, maintaining confidentiality, and delivering timely financial insights.
Primary responsibilities
Payroll Management:
- Assist in the preparation, verification, and processing of monthly payroll based on HR-provided documentation, ensuring compliance with local legislation.
- Issue payslips to employees while maintaining strict adherence to data protection regulations.
- Support the accurate calculation and processing of deductions (e.g., alimony, financial debt) and sick notes in SPF systems as per court orders.
- Provide support in processing termination documentation and manual adjustments aligned with payroll principles.
- Respond to salary-related employee queries and provide historical salary confirmations as needed.
- Assist senior accountants with monthly payroll journals, outstanding vacation balances, and hours reconciliation.
Financial Operations:
- Help to extract and analyse monthly financial reports in assistance to Chief accountant
- Contribute to accurate journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support senior accountants with tax-related tasks and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Ensure that financial activities comply with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Assist in cash management, financial reporting, and payroll-related tasks under the guidance of senior accountants.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance team to enhance processes and address issues.
- Provide backup support for team members during holidays or absences, as well as assist with other reasonable duties as assigned.
Experience
- Experience in payroll accounting or similar role
- SAP experience required.
- Microsoft Excel experience essential.
- Payroll processing experience essential
- SPF/Tax reporting experience essential

Minimum Qualifications
- Recognized qualification related to the discipline.
- Good level of verbal and written English language.
- High level of verbal and written Azerbaijani language.
