Key details about the role and the candidate
- The Drilling Hydraulics Integrity SPA will act as the single point of accountability for all hydraulic system cases, ensuring reliability, compliance, and technical support for drilling operations, requiring strong expertise in hydraulic systems and 5–10 years of oil & gas experience.
You and the role
- In this position, you will provide critical technical guidance, liaise with OEMs and internal teams, and mentor engineers, directly contributing to the safe and efficient operation of hydraulics drilling across the business unit.
Primary responsibilities
- Provide breakdown support including NPT and non-NPT events
- Creation and maintenance of hydraulic system case work process.
- Provide clear accountability and a single point-of-contact for the hydraulic system case process
- Leads, directs, coordinates, and prioritizes duties to his subordinates on a daily basis, ensuring they are working on the priorities that align with our company’s and our customer’s needs.
- Direct communication OEM regarding hydraulic system operation, maintenance, and support.
- Close liaison with Systems Integrity, BP RET, OEMs and vendors.
- Close cooperation and working relations with the Maintenance Superintendent, coordinating on maintenance issues.
- Working within the overall framework of the BP eMoC system to ensure compliance at all stages.
- Assist in ensuring that all field hydraulic drilling systems are maintained, repaired promptly, investigate defects, and submit reports as required.
- Review eMoC specific to drilling hydraulic systems.
- Assist in the review of spares across the fleet to ensure that an adequate supply of field drilling hydraulic spare parts is maintained on each installation, in the warehouse or held by the Vendor.
- Create, review, and maintain corporate approved hydraulic process and guideline.
- Assist in the compilation and maintenance of the hydraulic asset register and hydraulic component obsolescence Register.
- Supervise & assign the preventive maintenance and regular maintenance / repair of equipment
- Mentoring / Training of Hydraulic Engineers.
Experience
- 5-10 years’ experience in drilling / Oil & Gas industry / or similar.
Behaviour and Skills
- High level of spoken and written English.
- Microsoft Office, Project.
Minimum Qualifications
- Suitable technical qualifications – Higher National Diploma or similar.
- Proven understanding of Hydraulic System technologies, principles, and knowledge of automated systems.
- Design experience of Hydraulic Control Systems
- Commissioning and Support of Hydraulic control systems
- CAD experience
