Key details about the role and the candidate:
- This onshore position involves leading the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance operations on drilling facilities, ensuring equipment operability, regulatory compliance, and support for shutdown and engineering processes. The
- Maintenance Team Leader will report to the Technical Integrity Manager and ensure any maintenance operations are carried out effectively, safely, and in line with company policies, client procedures, and statutory regulations.
You and the role:
- We seek an experienced Maintenance Team Leader with strong leadership in multidisciplinary teams, proven ability in maintenance planning and shutdown coordination, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years’ experience as a Maintenance Superintendent, excellent communication and supervisory skills, offshore certifications, and a comprehensive understanding of drilling equipment and maintenance systems like SAP.
Primary responsibilities:
- To implement the Group Management System Policies and Procedures in all maintenance operations.
- To periodically review the above procedures to ensure their effectiveness and where required propose amendments and ensure their implementation.
- Ensure implementation of relevant Maintenance Management System (MMS) for installations within area of maintenance team responsibility. Periodically review effectiveness of planned maintenance routines and prepare reports on same. Where required make recommendations for improvements to system and facilitate implementation.
- Liaise with Rig Manager, Client personnel, Third Party vendors, rig site personnel etc. to ensure the effective planning and execution of maintenance activities to minimise impact on drilling operations.
- Liaise with Operations/Rig Managers in preparation of annual maintenance budget for each installation. Review budget and provide feedback to KCA DEUTAG and client management.
- Prepare/collate Maintenance shutdown budgets and work scopes. Where required, liaise with Engineering Project personnel in preparation of shutdown plans. Provide information/liaise with Planner to input agreed work scope, timeframe and in development of a consistent planning process.
- Provide support to Lead Shutdown Co-ordinator in creation of a consistent shutdown implementation and delivery process.
- Liaise with vendors with respect to repair of equipment, onshore and offshore, to ensure completion in timely and cost-effective manner.
- Conduct periodic rig maintenance visits to installations within area of responsibility.
- Participate in any department “On Call” duty rota.
- Lead the Onshore and Offshore multi discipline team in Shutdown scope delivery and provide a consistent shutdown implementation and delivery process.
- Ensure all Construction sub-contractors for Shutdown are managed.
- Ensure Equipment Certification is in place and fully maintained.
- Ensure Management of Change, Engineering Query process is adhered to.
- Ensure SAP maintenance strategies are adhered to.
- Ensure Shutdown productivity offshore does not exceed the estimate.
- Ensure Shutdown non-productive time offshore does not exceed the estimate.
- Familiarise him/herself with the Company HSE Policy and take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of him/herself and persons likely to be affected by his/her acts or omissions as required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1994.
- Actively promote HSE culture in all activities, meetings, discussion groups and during visits to operating locations.
- Ensure the local development and implementation of Engineering’s Management Control and Cost Reporting System.
- Responsible for the development, control and reporting of the Baku Engineering Project budgets.
- Promote continuous improvement process/culture within Engineering and Maintenance functions.
- Ensure the development of local Engineering and Maintenance Management systems and processes whilst ensuring consistency with worldwide processes.
- Where required as Action Party, close out actions in a timely manner.
- Periodically review procedures, to ensure their effectiveness and where required to propose amendments and ensure their implementation.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant Company management systems and where applicable client procedures.
Experience:
- Proved Experience as Maintenance Team Leader.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Maintenance Superintendent.
- Comprehensive understanding of Drilling Equipment and functions.
Behaviour and Skills:
